The 7 Casino Red Flags We Saw Most Often in 2026

Before any casino gets a full review on this site it goes through a screening stage: we verify the licence, research the operating company, read the complete terms and check complaint history. 1. A licence you cannot verify

The most common failure by a wide margin. A regulator's logo in the footer is not a licence; a licence number that appears on the regulator's own register is. How to check: find the licence number in the footer or terms and look it up directly on the regulator's register. For Curaçao, the Gaming Control Board publishes a searchable list of licensees under the 2024 LOK framework. For the MGA and UKGC, both maintain public registers. If you cannot find a matching entry in two minutes, close the tab.

2. Reverse withdrawals and long pending periods

A pending period is the window between requesting a withdrawal and the casino processing it. Some casinos hold withdrawals for 24 to 72 hours during which you can "reverse" the request and gamble the money back. It is a retention tactic dressed up as a security feature, and it slows every payout. The best casinos we review process withdrawals within hours with no reversal window at all.

4. Terms and conditions copied from another casino

White-label casinos are legitimate; dozens of respectable brands run on shared platforms. What is not legitimate is a terms page that names a different casino, references a licence the site does not hold, or contradicts the bonus page. It tells you nobody at the company has read their own rules, which means nobody will honour them either.

How to check: search the terms for the casino's own name. Then search for another brand name. If you find one, or if the company name in the terms does not match the one in the footer, that is a screening failure.

5. Unlimited "no deposit" bonuses for new brands

Genuine no-deposit offers exist and we list them, but they are small, capped and increasingly rare at licensed casinos. A brand launched this year offering €50 free with no deposit, 60x wagering and a €20 maximum cashout is not giving anything away; it is collecting registrations and documents. Several such sites this year could not be found on any regulator's register.

How to check: run the licence check first. Then calculate the offer honestly: bonus times wagering is your required turnover, and the max cashout is the most you can ever receive. If the numbers do not make sense for the casino, they do not make sense for you.

6. Support that cannot answer basic questions

We contact support at every casino with three specific, answerable questions: the licence number, the withdrawal processing time and the wagering multiple on the welcome bonus.
